I’m certain I’m the only person to have worked through Digital Transformations at Best Buy, Target and now Costco. I was in the vanguard of change at Best Buy, leading the small team that took over BestBuy.com and brought Agile, DevOps and a layered cloud architecture to completely revamp the site. I spent most of my time fighting off the IT conformists who spent all their time trying to get me to manage software “correctly,” meaning let some system integrator run the project and sit there and sign checks until the project failed.

At Target, I had the privilege to work for the best technology team in Retail, and over six years rebuilt the entirety of IT into an in-house engineering centric organization that created the foremost retail platform in the industry. The platform allowed Target to thrive during the pandemic.

Now at Costco, I have the greatest opportunity on earth to build a Digital channel of interaction and engagement with the member base to enhance their experience and bring Costco into the Digital age.
